"Moving from your comfort zones is a way to upset the notion of aging. We still want to be thrilled, to be brave, to be proud and to challenge ourselves."
A thousand times "Yes!" to this! I'm 8 weeks into a 6 month gig with performers 3 decades younger than me, and every show is thrilling, exhausting, and exhilarating.
I'm very lucky to have been a minor part of your tour, Kathy, and it was a privilege to see your confidence grow, gig after gig, to match the brilliance of your on-stage performance.
I was a part of it, yes Kathy. We can certainly agree on that.
Hope I'll be there when needed for quite a while to come.
I was thinking yesterday that one of the things I miss most about those two weeks is seeing you strum a few guitar chords, step up to the mic, and conjure a great song apparently out of thin air. Awesome talent.
Hey Kathy! This read was glorious! You brought me to England with your descriptive writing and I actually could see the clouds in Wales. On your 2025 Record you will be making, does one track include “Hurry”? Have you had time to finish it? In all your free time (like 7 minutes a week) have you been working on your 2nd book? So happy you are loving England!
Hi, I've been much more music leaning than book leaning, but I have goalz!! And yes, "Hurry" will be the first song I finish up and release. Already working on it!
What a great post! Thanks for catching us up on things- I’m glad you are so busy. I’m 63 and pondering the next phase of my life. I hope I’m as active as you are. Anxious for your next update. Take care!
"I am doing this, alone, for the first time. I’m doing it at 65 years old, an age where the world sometimes makes us feel as though we should be getting smaller, winding down. Moving from your comfort zones is a way to upset the notion of aging." You are an inspiration, thank you! I don't get the barrel pants either.
Thanks for the video montage of the tour. Looks like you guys had a blast! I've always liked "Green Onions." In fact, it is on my Spotify Playlist.
I did not know that "God is in the details" was the original phrase. I learn something new every day! I think I prefer the original though. Your description of the scenery during the tour, the expanse of the universe (last night the moon and Venus were shining brightly in the sky) all the way to tiniest ant going about its daily routine, to the sacrificial love you have for your friend in LA are just some examples of that from my point of view. Safe travels as you trek back and forth over the pond. I hope you and Audrey have a wonderful Christmas! 🎄❤️
"The way I handled being onstage by myself worked. I accepted however it felt and didn’t pretend that anything different was going on. I didn’t “act as if,” I didn’t “fake it til I make it.” "
Exactly, Kathy, and brilliant for that. Totally disarming and everyone warmed to you from the offset. Just talking about it as you go, brilliant performance... and wow, we knew who you were talking about before you came to saying 'Suzi Quatro'. 'Can The Can!' A tearful moment for some of us.
Sorry if more about Dingwall's than the writing, which remains perspicacious as ever.
Hope this has made the 'England project' worth it.
Cool video! But you drove right past Swindon. Stop by next time. I've got guitars. 🙂 I did the band thing in my 20's and 30's (in NJ, and it was country music) and band camaraderie is everything. I miss those days but as I near 60 I know I couldn't do it again! I'm in bed by 9PM. 😄

I love this: thrilling, "exhausting and exhilarating" xk
Happy Holidays to you, family, and friends!
Thanks for providing that nice video of your tour. Zigzagging across the UK was certainly a unique way of seeing a country.
Thanks also for proving that chronological age does not have to be a barrier. Still inspiring when you share this attitude.
Have a great 2025!
thanks Bradford! happy holidays!

Can't wait to see what you do in 2025.
I'd say much more than "minor" as in, wouldn't have happened without you! Look forward to the next times!

AHHHHH! ‘Green Onions’ is my fave instrumental jam. I learned the names and artists of many 50s/60s/70s instrumentals for fun as a kid.
Thrilled that you & Glenn got to go to that event- anything with Debs is inherently magical 🖤
On a more serious note, this is profound. THANK YOU for your courage & wisdom. Brill! inspiring! xoxo
thanks for reading and commenting Emily! xk
You are one of those people who have the best “way with words”. Believe it.
thank you Cheryl Rae! xk

thanks David, and yes it's an odd place to be, pondering what directions to move in!
Rock til ya drop. No age limit on that.
well....I might stop before I actually drop!!! xk
Kewl! Your bulletins from the frontier are both entertaining and edifying. :)
Please get well and best wishes for the holidays!
thanks Chris, glad you enjoyed xK
Barrel pants scare the hell out of me. Can’t wait to hear and see more music!
I'll never understand!

Your goal for a doozy was definitely met.😃
can never predict what will be a doozy!
