bluebonnets forevah!!! great band you have there, KV. always has been. Was in L.A. for a day a few weeks ago... it is so cool to pass by places where our memories were born to be remembered. The city that always gives the illusion that something is about to happen, or where anything is (was) possible. When that discomfort or worry hits me, at some point i usually remember that i can trust my hp. and also intuition, tapped into that same force. great studio footage. thanks KV.

The through lines for me have always been: singing, collage/multi-media art, & making/replicating tiny things with my hands~ I’ve always been able to (and have always loved l) to look at something & figure out how to make it. Sometimes it’s easy & spot on… and sometimes I cry and want to give up (like while making Kate Pierson’s hair) 😂 I’m pretty resourceful and resilient, though, and can usually push through~ even if it’s 17 hours putting teeny-tiny rhinestones on Cher’s crocheted pants or spending 8+ hours hand sanding Gina’s tiny drumsticks. 🥳

Great post and a good read! Memories are what makes us smile, helps us leam and makes us human. Being creative helps stimulate the mind and keeps us young. Keep doing great things! ❤️. So glad our paths have crossed!

PS: Have been wearing out your solo stuff! 🎶

Not since her early solo career. I guess I mean to suggest that it might make a good Go-Go’s song, not a Belinda solo record.

Maybe so but the Go-Go's aren't working together on a record or anything else. I think I will do a fine job with it!

I love doing zen tasks. Shoveling snow mowing the lawn all bring instant gratification. There’s something about turning around and seeing the results of your work instantaneously that makes me happy. Maybe it comes from childhood, I remember I had a play lawnmower and I would walk behind my Dad following the freshly mown stripes of grass. To my tiny brain it made me think I was doing it. For some reason that memory just sticks in my head. (Life was so simple in the very early 60’s!) The song is sounding great. The addition of the drums is fantastic. I can’t wait to hear what the finished product actually sounds like. Thanks again for another fantastic post. I look forward to the next!

what a sweet, wonderful memory. I have a very distinctive one of my dad making a row boat shaped outline of books on the floor and sitting in the middle with him and rowing. it's the only one I have from when he and my mom were still married, and also my earliest memory - 3 yrs old

That is a fantastic memory too. Fathers and daughters had special bonds.

Totally agree with your "Zen Raking" comment. That is why I like mowing the lawn. The drone of the motor, the repetitive motions, the smell of recently cut grass. I also find the patterns of the staples on telephone poles interesting. A kind of "found art". Love your music; love your musings. Keep it up! Thank you.

Have recently recognized a thru line about me always willing to drive long distances. I always tell folks I'm the son of a truck driver, which is true, so to me it's just down the road. But now I realizing it's when I listen to the most music. I always wondered why hitting the road to someplace was such a thing with me. Come to think of it...

Another great post! Has Kristy (sp?) heard the tracks beforehand and have something already planned out? Or is it like freeform, improvisational? Do you advise her on how you hear the drum part played or do you let her create without parameters? Curious minds would like to know. :) ... Thanks again Kathy. These videos are so cool ..

Hi Steve, yes I sent her an MP3 of what I had recorded--minus the drum loop, most drummers would rather play to a click track than a drum loop. she practiced on her own at a rehearsal place, 2 times and knew what she wanted to play--I knew she'd play something cool and trusted her. I had one or 2 suggestions to try in the studio which she adapted. thanks for the questions!

"I like to say that out loud—in case something bad happens, whoever reads this can then say: “she knew something bad was going to happen” So, what does this mean when nothing bad happens? Like when evangelicals predict something will happen on a certain date and nothing happens—then they just pretend they didn't say it. The song is coming along nicely, I predict something good is going to happen.

well, I wasn't talking about anyone other than me, and I'm always grateful when a day goes by with nothing bad happening!

Thanks for another interesting video and weekly update!

In grade school, I had to get and read every music magazine I could find: Circus, Thrasher. Hit Parader. I wanted to know as much about the music and bands I loved as possible. I loved researching and learning.

Fast forward to the year 2000. I started doing genealogy research on both mine and my husband's family. It's been so interesting and rewarding. Learning about our ancestors and their stories and sharing with my family has gotten them interested too. Guess I've always enjoyed going down the rabbit hole. Lol.

Hi Kathy, As always, really enjoyed the read, proud to be a subscriber 👍. Is a little discomfort needed in this day and age? Could it be a defense mechanism we need to deploy? Shooters everywhere, texters on the road, etc.

Never heard of a thru-line. I learned something today!❤️.

Hi Jim, yes you're probably right--oh, and thru-line, i don't know if it's a thing in the context i used it, just a phrase/ concept I adapted for the idea of noticing that something about my present life that I'd not realized had been present in some form many years before.
