I would definitely listen to a podcast!! I'm going to be meeting you, and Gina again for the third time on March 25th when you go to the convention in New York, which is only a 2-hour train ride away, I can't wait to meet you!!
This is my first dispatch I'm reading and I love this whole idea of showing us how you write and construct a song. I like to write songs of my guitar, mostly as forms of therapy than for anything else, and it is fascinating to me to see how your process might compare to mine. Thank you for showing us this!
The first video I posted, writing the song Hurry, I used the title "Come Along and see how the song sausage is made." Because I am showing readers how I write a song, from beginning to end, and that is a fairly well known joke phrase: see how the sausage is made--meaning see what goes into making something.
Don't even get me started...there's an awful lot to write about this topic, and given that it's a big issue for me I'm sure I'll be visiting it in my writing.
words to live by! "It feels better being me when I treat people with kindness and compassion, when I have some discipline with my work, when I exercise, when I am creating, being productive, not numbing my brain and soothing my discomforts with consumerism or food. It feels better being me when I give back and am ‘of service’ in some capacity. And when I learn, through reading or research, and when I stay engaged with the world and friends and get out of the house."
Did you ever consider doing a one-woman show? I think you’d be great in lecture hall venues, maybe 500-person seating, playing a few songs, discussing your life, observations, and writing process, and just sharing stories. It could be unscripted with each show going off the vibe of the audience and evening. It would be like a giant group chat, where you could converse with the audience between songs. And most of all ... you could tell us how you and Jane were able to do that knee-bending dance move for half a song. We all envy that energy.
Very nice read and informative video. And I really find your guitar collection of special interest. I have my share of those too. A great story behind all of them also. Keep up the good work! You are touching the lives and hearts of many more people than you probably know. And that is appreciated!
Those moments(!!!!) I know *exactly* the magic you’re talking about. There’s a spark & a zing & an instant understanding at a soul level. Nothing like it 🥰✨⚡️ I’d love a KV podcast! Have a blast with Gina! & say hi!! xo
I was wondering if you could share your preparation for working, such as a favorite time of day, beverage like tea or coffee, and how you chose your work chair? GQ has a video series on a celebrity’s 10 essentials (jacket, bag, skin product, etc.). I just love when you share stories about a certain guitar, and such. Thanks again for creating this “community.” Wishing you and all your readers/listeners/fans the best day.
My days are very unstructured, I often float from one project to the next, in between errands, household chores, admin. As long as I'm TCB, biz that needs taken care of, I'm happy and it all gets done eventually. I just set up my desk top for serious writing again. It's in the kitchen, at a desk--where some would have a breakfast table, I have a desk. I like writing there. I got an adjustable platform that can raise and lower the desk top so I can sometimes stand and write when I start doing long stints of that--usually when I'm well into my first draft. I've been writing on my lap top and it sucks, --there's something wrong with the keyboard, and but I can't part with it long enough to get fixed!! so I needed to move to the serious spot.
Thanks for insight into your process. I’m a sports reporter, and I’m fascinated by other writers’ processes. I love your way of navigating through life’s daily chaos. I also can empathize with the challenges of a temperamental keyboard. There’s comfort with a familiar laptop but also frustration when it inevitably acts up. And I’m not 100 percent confident the Cloud will transfer all my notes to a new or temporary laptop. Thanks again for your response. Love what you’ve built on this platform.
To be clear, i love the shirt, I got it from my ex bf, but the only raw food I eat is salad!! maybe some sashimi now and then. You know, this is weird, but I can't remember the pee issue on the float. i am pretty sure they had a make shift toilet or portable, but you can be sure I avoided it as much as i could!
There’s no hurrying “Hurry,” and it’s been a pleasure watching it take root and start to flourish. If you have time to create a podcast, I’d definitely listen.
So cool you are doing a convention! I am a big fan of those, which were seen as dumb back in the days before geek culture was triumphant. I AM a geek, though, so I didn't care then and I *definitely* don't care now. These cons are moments of fan solidarity, where you can unashamedly debate whether the werewolves in "Dog Soldiers" were tougher than those in "The Howling", and which ones you'd rather fight, if you had to fight them.
(I see now I"m not making a very good case for the coolness of conventions.)
podcast? of course! another fantastic video. almost like being there. strat sounds fantastic. original 62' pickups? on to #15
I can't wait 😁❤️

Wonderful, it will be so nice to meet you!

I'm so happy you found and are liking the song sausage videos!
Definitely! Curious though, why is it called a "song sausage video"? In my mind, I see dancing sausages, lol

Ahhh ... got it ... Thanks for the explanation :)
Hey KV - I'm very happy that you pointed out the scourge of plastics. We are all so addicted and they're horrible for us!

I remember that Mardi gras parade!
As always, a great read.
THank you Anthony!

So how often were you flashed while throwing out beads ?! Lol. Love hearing the song evolve. Say hi to Gina. Thinking of heading to Asbury to see her.
We had a great time today! - flashing, don't recall seeing any of that!

Hi Emily! we did have a blast today. xxk

Your story of the Mardi gras float, all I could think of was "what if I have to pee?"😂 Eat raw live long 💪.

I read "eat raw" as avoid the highly processed foods. Much thanks again for the wonderful read ❤️
Amazing how switching guitars changed the sound. Such an interesting journey you're bringing us along for!
I'm glad you are enjoying getting to peek behind the curtain!

I got some great ideas from Emily to maybe try one out!

It was a nice energy yesterday. I enjoy meeting people in general, and felt a lot of love coming at me!
